We're having a party!

We have teamed up with Sewsmith (aka Lara, who teaches screen printing and other fabulous workshops in our studio), and Sew Make Believe (a popular, Leamington based crafting and book club meet-up group that our good friend Zoë helps organise), to host our very own Etsy Craft Party!
It's at The Sozzled Sausage just around the corner on Regent Street in Leamington Spa at 7pm on Thursday 20th June.

The price when you book here online is £5 - you will be able to purchase tickets on the door on the night, but they will be £6.50 and availability will depend on online ticket sales.

Party food and crafting materials are included in the price - the craft projects we'll be offering will be confirmed closer to the time. They are likely to include some fun hand sewing, badge making, lino cutting and origami to name a few! We'll have a Knit & Natter corner, so feel free to also bring along any projects you're working on!

Drinks are not included in the price, but there is a bar in the function room, so bring some pocket money with you.

For more details on Etsy's annual, global craft party, have a read of this.

So, there will be glue, sharp things and alcohol. What could possibly go wrong?

Please note: We do have an eventbrite page for the craft party - if you have registered your wish to attend, you will still need to pay £6.50 on the door, or book here for the advance booking rate of £5!
Please present your booking confirmation on arrival.

Book club update!

I have a message from Zoë

Emily and I realised the other day that it might help to share our next book club choice with you! We are going to be discussing The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce on Wednesday 19th June. Do join us for tea, cake and discussion from 6.00pm. Now I just need to get a copy of the book!

Damn it Amy, I'm a shopkeeper, not a rainbow technician.

For those of you who haven't been to see the new Star Trek film, go. I might go again, if you want some company.

What do you suppose Amy has been up to? Well, she has been settling in to her new house nicely (yes, we've both moved recently), and generally obsessing about rainbows...

Pretty new necklaces!

The weather was kind to us for a while wasn't it? If the sun decides to grace us with its presence again and you fancy having a garden party with mojitos, pimms, or coke floats, we have some pretty new straws in stock:

Chevrons!

I posted a few pictures taken in my living room recently (Charlotte's lampshade has taken up permanent residence on my sideboard), so I thought it only fair to post one taken in Amy's craft room:

Teachers are busy bees...

We had a shop full of lovely, talented people today! Lara, Denise, Zoë and Fiona all happened to be in at the same time, so we shared a pot of tea.

Lara was dropping off her fabulous (and enormous) macrame pot holder for us to photograph as an example for her upcoming macrame workshop. I haven't managed to take a photo I'm happy with yet, we just couldn't find anywhere to hook it from! I'll have another go at home later in the week, but here it is being held up by Denise in the shop's back yard:

Charlotte completed her first knitted lampshade last night. These will hopefully be on sale in the shop in some brighter colours, the cream is just for the pattern. I think it looks ace on my orange lamp base, so may well steal it!

New bakers twine arrived today! We have some bright new colours, including an orange & purple mix, a green & pink mix and a blue & pink mix. They are slightly thinner than our previous stock, but as a result they are more vibrant as there is less white in each strand. There is approximately 90m on each roll.

Ahhh, pretty

All the satchels of the rainbow...

We took it in turns to pop down to the town hall for the Save the Children gig yesterday. I'll be honest, we did more buying than selling! Foot fall was poor, but it gave us a good opportunity to flex our market-muscles, and our pitch fee goes to a good cause. Zoë, Roisin, and Denise came along too, so we had a hoot. Roisin was modelling one of her Colette Hazel dresses and Denise was arm knitting!

Denise successfully introduced four lovely ladies to the world of crochet yesterday morning. Everyone gets to pick which balls of cotton they would like to use from a big basket; we think Tara picked the prettiest colours:

Our satchel stock was replenished this week, so our rainbow(s) are complete again...

Save the Children Spring Fair

We're venturing out from the comfort of our cosy little shop on Saturday. Don't worry, we're just popping down to Leamington town hall for the Save the Children Spring Gift and Craft Fair. If you're at a loose end on Saturday, or you're looking for an excuse to cancel something boring you have planned, pop down and see us and 50 other stall holders selling hand made goodies.

Entry is free of charge, there is a cake stand, a giant chocolate tombola (what?!), a plant stand and some Beryloonies on a field trip. Doors open at 10am and close at 4pm. Below is a voucher for a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake for just £1.50. Bargain.

 Also, how cute are these?

 Pretty new brooches
